Super mom???...Super teacher???...Crazy lunatic???...

    I don't know which one of these I should title this post because it depends on who you ask. Over the last three weeks I have battled what I thought was just sinuses or maybe a little cold. What is new? The weather can't decide what it wants to do. One minute it is HOT and the next FREEZING!
    This week Wes left on Sunday morning while my mom and grandma were still in town. I had a runny nose on Sunday, but I have had that for two weeks. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I was on auto pilot of teacher during the day and FULL TIME mom during the evening. Everyone kept saying go to the doctor as they heard me saying I felt like my chest was tightening up when I took a breath. I know looking back I am STUPID for not going to the Dr, but what people don't understand is taking two munckins to the Dr. with me is NOT fun. I know it would have been easy to just call into work one day, but I was off last month for 3 days when Kaylee, Landon, and I had the stomach bug. Two weeks ago I had to take off to take Kaylee to the Dr and last week took off early for my dentist appointment and then again early for Landon's appointment. So, most days off with the kids falls on me. This is why I PUSH myself so hard to get out of bed and be there for the 30 kids at 7:45am each morning.
     Either way, I know that I put it off too long. The doctor said I had lost my mind then followed it by saying I had a BAD sinus infection and the start of bronchitis. After being on meds for 3 days I am feeling much better! I also know that I have to take care of myself for my kids!!!

   I never stop learning lessons!

E-mail from Landon's Preschool Teacher

I got this following e-mail on Monday and I have to say I was BEAMING from ear to ear. I am one PROUD mommy!

Hello! As you know, Landon is quite advanced, and I'm seeing that he is able to sound out simple words and even knows some sight words. If it's okay with you, I'd like to start reading some with him during naptime on the days that he doesn't nap (I'll give him 30 minutes to fall asleep). This morning during my assessment, I pulled out the first book of the Bob series (-at words and a few simple sight words), and he read the first book fairly easily. I don't know if you're familiar with these books, but they're great beginning readers as each book focuses on a different word family and the text is predictable and repetitive.

Soccer comes to an end

Landon has one more game next weekend, but we decided to go ahead and have their little soccer party a week early. Landon and all the boys were SO excited to get their trophy.

Thank you Coach Kevin and Coach Eric for making Team Lightning such a GREAT little team. Thank you for helping Landon become aggressive!

Halloween

Luckily, Wes was home again this year. Spiderman and Nemo were joined by our  neighbors for some Trick or Treating.

 

 Yes, that is a BOW in my daughter's hair. Nana Irene's daughter, Nicole, made Kaylee a bow. Since it matched her outfit I put it in her hair. She wouldn't take it out all night. I am one happy mommy!

Kaylee quickly got the hang of how to get candy and what to do with it. Landon had to help her at the first house, but after that she was READY!



Fall Festival at Work

Each year Kristi, my co-teacher and one of my best friends, and I work the fall dance. Our kids get to play while we "work". It blows my mind that Landon will have friends here next year at this dance.

I was shocked that as soon as I pulled my camera they got together and said CHEESE.

 Kaylee did no want to wear the Nemo hat, but we got it on for a second for me to snap a picture!

Pinterest - October

I have been doing little things here and theren Pinterest, but now that fall is here it lead me to many more little crafts. I made these little baskets for Landon's three teachers.

 I took a large Hershey's bar and made it into a mummy.

Field Trip

I was SO excited to take off to go on Landon's fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch. We got up, took Kaylee to Nana Irene's, and then we went on a breakfast date to Mimi's Cafe. We still had some time to waste so we went to Target to look through the toy isle. Landon picked out MANY things he wants and even found a pink soccer ball that he bought for Kaylee.

We then went and waited for his other friends to arrive. To say he was excited was an understatement!

 He was excited to introduce me to Chelsea.

 They got to play in the corn pit, jump house, hayride, and then we went through the corn maze.

We ended our day with Menchies' Ice Cream, watching a movie, and mommy taking a nap. Keeping up with preschoolers is HARD!

When we were driving to pick up Kaylee I told Landon that I really enjoyed having a whole day with just him. He said, "Mommy I liked it too, but I did miss Kaylee." That was just precious!

Pumpkin Project

Landon's October project was to decorate a pumpkin. Landon colored it orange and then we painted pumpkin shaped macaroni. Once they were dry Landon glued everything on. We thought it turned out really cute.

Movie Night - Madagascar 3

We love to have movie night and we were very excited when Madagascar 3 came out. Wes dropped Landon off at school and went and grabbed our movie. When I got home we all tried on the wig that came with it. How do these kids look so cute in it? As you notice Wes and I decided to leave our pictures off...not as cute.

 We pulled out the bed and watched the movie. It was adorable!
