Nesting and sleep...

When Landon and I were snowed in for 10 days the nesting process went into full swing. I had 2 friends give me clothes one for Kaylee and one for Landon which started the nesting. So...

1. I started by sorting all of Landon's clothes. Cleaning out his winter and summer drawers of the things he can't wear and putting in all of the new summer and winter clothes that we got.

2. Then it was on to Kaylee's room where I put more clothes into drawers.

3. I rearranged Wes' sweaters so he has more room.

4. Did 7 loads of laundry.

5. Got Landon's bottles down, and cleared Kaylee's new cabinet out downstairs. It is now loaded with bottles and formula.

6. Organized Landon's playroom

While doing this Landon would help for awhile and then we would stop, play games, and get back to work. It was a very productive 10 days off. Unfortunately, for my co teacher Kristi, my nesting hasn't ended at home. We spent time on Friday, when the kids were working, cleaning and rehanging things in my room that have been making me crazy!

One would think with all of this working that I would be EXHAUSTED, which I am, but my body doesn't seem to want to sleep. I had one great night on Friday night where I slept from

8:30pm-7 am. It was a much needed sleep and one that I was hoping would continue, but Sunday morning I rolled over to see 3:45 am on the clock. So, downstairs I went to watch TV. Some mornings I just wake up for no reason at all and other mornings Kaylee decides she is ready to do a dance. I remember these days oh so well with Landon, and everyone kept telling me to get my rest I will need it. They don't say that this time around because they know that I already know what is to come, but if they did...my response would be, "I WOULD LOVE TO SLEEP, TRUST ME!!!"

As frustrating as it is, it is also exciting because it is a sign that we are getting close to meeting our new little addition. I told Wes last night that even though it is uncomfortable when Kaylee starts her stretching, it makes me feel good to know that all is well in there as she is VERY active just like her brother was at this stage!

Making Kaylee a Present

I knew that I wanted Landon to get something for Kaylee that he could bring to the hospital when she is born. He came up with the idea to go to Build a Bear to make her a bear. I thought this was a great idea. One of my best friends, Michelle McMahon, made Landon a bear when he was born, which has a shirt on that says, "It's a Boy". Since Wes was off this weekend we decided to go after soccer to Build a Bear.

He went over to the stuffing machine. He got to pick out a heart to put in the bear. He had to rub it in his hands to warm up the heart.

Rub it on his head to make it smart like him.

Rub it on his funny bone so it is funny like him.

Rub it on his tummy so it would laugh like him.

Rub it on his cheek so it is handsome like him and then ended it with a BIG kiss!

Then he got to stuff the bear.

After the bear was stuffed he had to go and give it a bath.

Wes decided to be funny and pretend to give Landon a bath. As you can tell Landon wasn't too fond of this idea.

We looked for a t-shirt like Landon's that said "It's a Girl", but they were out. We will have to go back and get one later.

Landon and I sat down and made his bear a birth certificate. Landon named the bear Kaylee.

Kaylee, with my assistance, has already gotten Landon a special gift from her when he comes to the hospital. Although, I think getting to meet Kaylee will be enough of a gift for him!

Wes finally was able to get home on Wednesday night around 7:00 pm. Landon is always excited to see his dad, but when he saw his truck pull in he screamed so loud it made me jump. I think being stuck in the house with me made him miss his daddy more...plus daddy is much more fun in the snow than his pregnant mom!

This morning (Thursday) Wes decided to get us out of the house. I was a nervous wreck, but Wes did a good job. There were definitely some icy patches, but most of the main roads we were on had been cleared. The neighborhoods are still pretty bad. We made it to Waffle House safely. It was so nice to just be out of the house. We then headed across the street to Kroger because we were running out of everything at home. When we got home Landon and Wes scraped the driveway because it was a sheet of ice. Then they got dressed and headed down to the hill to sled with The Hildreths. I suggested to Wes to take his old knee board down to sled on and it was a hit. The kids actually went faster this time because it was all ice. Landon had a BLAST!!!

Snow AGAIN...

I am starting to wonder if the south is turning into the new north. They have been talking about snow for a week, but they seem to do this often. As the time drew closer they started mentioning 6-8 inches. I knew then that we probably would get some snow. I had NO CLUE at how much and how fast it would come in. One minute I was on the phone telling Wes that it hadn't started yet and within 20 minutes we probably already had an inch. It was WILD!

I was amazed when I woke up in the morning. We had about 6-7 inches. Landon was overly excited when I woke him up and told him to look out his window. He wanted to go play immediately, which I know if Wes was home they would have been out first thing in the morning.

After breakfast our neighbors and great friends called to see if Landon could come out and play. He was SO excited! He loves to play with them, and this meant he was headed outside. We both got all dressed. The only good thing about Wes being gone is that I was able to wear his winter gear since I can't fit into mine anymore.

Landon was waiting patiently, but he couldn't wait to get outside!

With the pending snow we were all hoping that Wes' trip would get cancelled and he could be snowed in with us. Unfortunately, all flights after his was cancelled, but his trip went on to Ohio. (I found it humorous that the flew him to Ohio to get away from the GA snow.) I woke Landon up right before Wes left, and I had to snap a few pictures because it shows how much he loves his daddy. He just wanted Wes to carry him around as he finished packing his bag.

We hate saying goodbye, but the hello is PRICELESS!!!

Either I am a basketball or I am huge...

So a couple of weeks ago Landon looked at me and said, "Mommy, your tummy looks like a basketball." This was so nice to hear, especially from my little man.

Well, Landon, Wes and I were sitting at dinner the other night and Landon asked for a napkin. I got up to get him one and here is the conversation that we had when I came back to the table...

Landon: Mommy you are HUGE (Wes laughs and I drop my jaw)

Me: What did you say?

Landon: You are getting Huge. (Wes is still laughing, but getting a dirty look from me now.)

Me: I thought I was a basketball.

Landon: You are just a bigger one.

Me: Can you explain to mommy what you mean by HUGE?

Landon: Your tummy

Me: OK what about my tummy

Landon: Your tummy is getting huge because Kaylee is getting big

Me: OK so is mommy getting HUGE or is mommy's tummy getting HUGE?

Landon: Your tummy is getting bigger because Kaylee is about to POP out!

Me: That sounds much better. Can we say that mommy's tummy is getting bigger from now on instead of saying that mommy is HUGE?

Landon: Yep

I had to turn to Wes, who had finally stopped laughing, and said, "Please remind me to have a talk with him before he gets married or starts dating about his word choices with women." He keeps us entertained and his thoughts on this pregnancy completely crack us up!

Dr. appt. - 28 weeks

Yesterday we went to the doctor. Kaylee is measuring perfect, and her heartbeat was 147. I always kept up with Landon's heartbeat, but have been bad this time around. I made sure to ask at this appointment. I was very excited to know that my blood platelet count was 273,000, which is great. They are monitoring this closely since I had toxemia with Landon. He also felt how she was positioned, and she is already turning head down. Between this her turning and the fact that I had to make all of my appointments from now until she is born makes the reality that Little Miss will be here before we know it. We are so excited, and a little nervous of how this whole transition will go, but I know in the end that I will have a beautiful, complete family of four!
