Day 5 - June 22, 2011 - Day Trip

This morning was a very exciting morning. Not only did we get to go see Jill, Allison, and all of the kids, but Kaylee found her feet this morning. She loves to grab and play with them now. I actually think she got them in her mouth because they were wet, but I didn't see it.

We got up and went and had a GREAT breakfast at the hotel. At the Embassy Suites they have a made to order omelet station and also a buffet. It is so good, and the best part is that it is FREE!

At 10:00am we met my best friends from college and their kids at the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. It was Jill with her 2 kids Cade and Tinsley, then Allison and 2 of her 3 kids, Whitney and Brooke (They are identical twins. I could never tell them apart. I asked her to keep them in the same colors all weekend so I could tell who was who.)

I had to get a picture of all of the girl babies. Next year these 3 will be following Tinsley around everywhere.

I wish that we lived closer because these 2 boys played so good together! They are just like us, they pick up right where they left off last year.

I wanted a picture with Landon, Cade and Tinsley, but Tinsely wasn't having it!

Funny thing is when the boys got out she got in.

All 3 of us girls have the same camera. Allison turned us all on to the bigger cameras. Well, Jill's kept acting up, but of course when Allison touched it it began to work.

Tinsley adored Kaylee. We kept telling her that next year Kaylee, Brooke, and Whitney would play with her. She was a trooper with all the babies and 2 boys.

After we left we went to Toots, which is our FAVORITE place to eat, with the Penlands. The Penlands are college friends too. Needless to say everyone, including mommy and daddy, went back to the hotel and went to sleep. We had a big day and a big night ahead of us!

Day 4 - June 21, 2011

Today was a LONG day for me. My mom was working through her lunch hour so she could get home early to help me get ready to head out. The kids and I went to the mall and then to

Wal-mart to just waste time. They both took great naps, which allowed me to rest too.

Landon got to do some painting while we wasted time.

Kaylee did some tummy time. Truthfully, she doesn't care for tummy time that much. She likes it much better with the pillow, but would prefer to sit on your lap, watch what is going on, and practice holding her head up the big girl way. I told you she is a nosey little girl. She has to see what her big brother is doing!

Wes finished his trip around 6:30pm, and headed to Chattanooga. Again, a storm rolled through right before we were about to leave. Luckily, by the time we were getting in the car it was just sprinkling. Kaylee had already been in bed for over an hour so I just woke her up, changed her diaper, and put her in her car seat. Landon got a bath and then jumped in his pajamas too. Around 7:30pm we headed to the Chattanooga airport to pick up Wes. He drove in and parked in the long term parking. (It was faster for him to drive then fly in. He made it in before the next flight took off from ATL.)

We picked him up and headed to Murfreesboro, TN to see college friends. Landon watch a movie until 9:00pm when I turned it off and then he fell asleep. Kaylee slept the whole way. I drove so Wes could sleep since he worked all day. I love driving at night. Kids are quiet and no one is on the road! We made it to Murfreesboro, the Embassy Suites or the "E" Hotel as Landon calls it, around 10:30pm. Unfortunately, there is a time change so it was actually 9:30pm. Most of the time this is great, but not when you have a 3 month old. I couldn't keep up with the time for some reason!

Day 3 - June 20, 2011

Today was not as eventful. Landon, Kaylee, and I just hung out in the morning while mom worked. We went and picked mom up from work and we went to Jenkins for lunch. This is my FAVORITE place to eat in Cleveland. When we finished up we ran over to this great little consignment store. I went there to buy a couple of bows, but found Kaylee a few outfits, Landon a shirt, and then Landon found this great dinosaur puzzle.

We then came home and headed for naps. When mom got home she took Landon to the park across the street. It was a nice relaxing day!

Day 2 - June 19, 2011 - Happy Father's Day

We woke up today at the "S" Hotel, as Landon would call it. It is Father's Day so we took Wes to eat at Blue Plate which overlooks the river. We went back to the hotel and the boys went swimming. I stuck my feet in, but it was WAY too cold for me. The boys had a blast! We went back to the room, packed up, and went and had bar-b-que and Sugar's. We then said by to Daddy and headed back to mom's house.

I was so glad that Kaylee did such a good job with mom.

She has discovered that her toys make noise and she loves them!

Our Adventure Begins - June 18, 2011

Today our 10 day adventure away from home started. We got up early, got the car packed, and at 9:00am we headed over to Home Depot. We always go there the first Saturday of the month to build something, but this was a special Saturday where we were building something for Daddy. Landon got to build Wes a toolbox and he was so excited to give it to him. After this wrapped up we went home, fed Kaylee, got Sophie and started our 2 1/2 hr. road trip to Nana Banana's house. When we got there we had lunch, Kaylee took a nap, and we hung out.

We were waiting on Wes' call when a HUGE storm blew through. The winds were so strong that my car was rocking in the parking spot. Now, my car is normally in the garage so maybe that is what cars do when they are outside in a storm, but that freaked me out. Luckily, it passed a few minutes before Landon and I left.

Wes planned to get 2 extended layovers in Chattanooga, so that we could come visit him. It just worked out great that is was the 2 weekends that hooked on to our Murfreesboro trip. Mom volunteered to keep Kaylee so we could have some time with Landon.

Landon and I made it to the Sheraton, "S Hotel", about 30 minutes before Wes. He got stuck before takeoff because of weather.

Thank goodness I had my IPOD. Landon sat and played angry birds while we waited.

When Wes got there we ran into an ASA flight attendant and her husband. They were returning early from Riverbend, which is a huge concert held once a year by the river in Chattanooga. She had an early flight out, so she gave us her pins to go check it out. By this time it was almost 9:00pm, but we decided to go anyway.

We got to see Kelly Pickler and had a funnel cake. Then is was time to head back to the hotel. We were in bed asleep by 11:00.

June 17, 2011

Tomorrow we start on our week long adventure to see Wes while he is working, Nana Banana's, my best friends, Jill and Allison, in Murfreesboro, back to Nana Banana's, back to see Wes again at work, and then home. I have no idea how Kaylee will adjust to all of this traveling, but it is worth a try. I am so excited to start this adventure and all of the memories that will come with it. I know that I won't be able to post while I am out and about, but my goal is to write down my thoughts and when I get a chance I will back track and blog about the week. I want to remember every second of this fun chaos! Gotta get to bed so that tomorrow will get here!

Things they love...

Landon LOVED his paci when he was little. We broke him of the habit at 7 months, but it was his favorite thing at 3 months. Kaylee, on the other hand, is not such a fan. She might take it for a minute when I am trying to get her bottle, but when she realizes that nothing is coming out of it she spits it out. She instead has discovered "snuggies". I don't know what they really are called, but that is what Landon calls them. She has a couple, but when she is really tired she will rub her little face on it and fall asleep. Usually, once she is asleep she pushes it off to the side, but I am paranoid so at night I will sneak in and take it out of the crib. Most of the time she just likes to cuddle with one downstairs. She is going to be like her mom and brother and like silky on blankets!

Landon also loves his silky blue blanket. This has been his favorite blanket since he was small. His new favorite animal is "Ralph". His Great Grandma Daniel wanted him to have it. I actually gave this monkey to my Grandpa Daniel as a joke when I was in college. When I was little I would hear noises under my grandparents' house, and grandpa told me it was a monkey named Ralph. This is why he got a monkey from me. Great Grandma wanted Ralph to stay with Landon. She knew Great Grandpa would want it that way! He is taking great care of Ralph.

Using the ZOOM

I absolutely LOVE my Nikon camera that Wes got me 2 years ago. We have gotten more than our moneys worth out of it! IT came with a 18-55mm lens on it and, for Christmas, Wes bought me a new 55-200mm lens. I haven't found the time to fiddle with it, so I got it out right before we went out in the sprinkler. Since I could shoot from farther away he didn't know I was taking pictures of him. This allowed me to get a bunch before he caught on.

I had to get one of our first daughter. Loving our kids has given Sophie a lot of grey, but she is an AWESOME dog!

BUSTED...I knew he would catch me at some point. Gotta love it!

I came to the conclusion that I like my regular lens, but think I will love the zoom lens when Landon starts playing sports, and I can't get as close.

Keeping him busy!

Keeping Landon busy is my daily goal. The other night Wes got out the sprinkler to water the grass, while I was running. When I ran by the house there was Landon, still in his clothes, running through it. He was supposed to be getting ready for bed, but somehow ended up in the sprinkler. Man, Daddy is EASY! So, yesterday I decided to take the kids out and let him run through the sprinkler to cool off.

Kaylee and I sat on the porch. She was content with her fan. She did get wet at the beginning because I had it too close to the house. She stuck that lip out and let me know she did not like the sprinkler!

He was so proud of himself running through it.

Gotta love that face!

The wind felt great to me, but I guess when you are wet it isn't as much fun.
