28 weeks = 3rd Trimester

Where in the world did the last 2 trimesters go?
Wes and I were talking the other day and I came to the realization that in 3 months Kaylee will be here with us. We are so excited to meet her, see Landon with her, and see how in the world our life/routine will change.
Her room is pretty much complete minus the bedding and rocking chair. Both should be in by the end of January. This has been a HUGE relief for me! Wes, my in-laws, and Landon have worked really hard to get this all together with a little help from me. (When I was allowed!)

What the 3rd Trimester is bringing or going to bring?

- I am starting to get tired again. UGH...that 2nd trimester energy doesn't last long enough!

- NESTING - I just want to get rid of things and organize. (Wes likes and hates this all at the same time. He doesn't like things being thrown away.)

- A lot more movement. Kaylee is very active, which I love to feel, but she likes to be most active when I am trying to sleep/nap or just relax.

- Water - I am so sick of drinking water. I know I have to drink it, but YUCK! So, I have my days where I will get a glass and water and when a commercial break comes on I set my goal to have the glass finished before the show comes back on. How sad is that? I guess whatever works, right?

- Excited and Nervous feelings all at the same time. I am so excited to see who Kaylee will look like, and I can't wait to see Landon's face when he meets her. I am also VERY nervous about having two to get ready when Wes isn't here for 4 days. What is great about a second pregnancy is I am able to reflect back to when Landon was born, and I had the exact same feelings. I have been pretty successful with him, so I know that in time the 4 of us will figure all of the new stuff out.

Well, I go to the Dr. on Jan. 4 for my 28 week checkup and then after that I go every 2 weeks. It doesn't seem real that we will have another little blessing in this house, but we are excited about this new chapter in our lives!

The last thing that the 3rd trimester is bringing is a growing baby bump. Landon calls it my basketball. He will make a great husband one day!

A White Christmas

Christmas night it started snowing and sticking to everything but the road. The snow continued through that night, and Landon was VERY excited to see that it was still there the next morning. We waited around for awhile before we got all dressed and went out for a little bit. The wind was a little harsh, so we didn't stay out a long time.

He was frozen when we came in, so he went and snuggled with Katie and Sophie.

Just call me Dr. Landon

I was in my closet on Christmas Eve night and realized that I had forgotten a present for Landon, so I had to quickly wrap it up. He LOVES his new Dr. set. He does everything that his Dr. does to him, like telling me to take a deep breath. I asked him what I should call him and he said, "Just call me Dr. Landon."

He also is a veterinarian. He had to do a checkup on Sohpie. Luckily, Sophie is used to it and just sits there. (Katie, mom's dog, wasn't too fond of Dr. Landon.)

She even gave Dr. Landon kisses while he was checking her out.

I love this picture! This shows how much she loves him and the feeling is VERY mutual!

She is the best dog and will be great with Kaylee too! Landon has just caused her to have a lot of grey hair. After Kaylee she might be all grey.

This Dr. stuff makes you tired!

Cristmas Eve

My mom came in on Dec. 23 and Wes ended up leaving on Dec. 24 Christmas Eve. Mom said something to Landon about tomorrow being Christmas, he looked at her and said, "No it's not Nana. Christmas was when Daddy was home." I was so proud that we are teaching him that Christmas is a day that you celebrate with your family and not a certain date on the calendar. We decided that the "real" Christmas would be called a "present day" where we get to open more presents. He was ok with that!

Last year we started a new Christmas Eve tradition of Nana and Landon making pumpkin pie, so we had to continue that tradition this year.

My mom brought everything but the kitchen sink, but she forgot to bring her pie plates. I had to laugh when she asked if I had any. Really? I don't bake.

So we had to get creative and it actually turned out better. We got Landon's cookie cutters and cut the dough into small circles and made mini pumpkin pies.

They were DELICIOUS!!!

Sturgeon's Christmas 2010

Wes was going to be on call on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, so we knew that he would most likely not be here. We talked to Santa and he agreed to come early for Landon, so our Christmas Eve was December 22, and our Christmas day was December 23.

Landon got to pick out, of ALL of our Christmas goodies, things that Santa would like. He thought that Landon would defiantly like some of Great Grandma Daniel's peanut butter fudge, this is Landon and daddy's favorite!

So he picked a piece of fudge, 2 cookies, and some crackers for the reindeer.

Here daddy is explaining to Landon how Santa comes down the chimney. I don't know how every ones Elf on the Shelf works, but Landon said we should sit out Mr. Elf's box so Santa can put him back in just like he took him out this year. So, this is how our Elf on a Shelf will work.

Wes' parents were in for our Christmas. Landon was delaying going to bed by talking to them and being cute.

As you can see Santa loved the fudge because it is all gone, and ate some of the cookies.

Santa also did a cool thing by signing Landon's list that he gave him when he was at the mall. Santa left it with all of the things that he brought for Landon checked off. I guess Santa left the rest for mommy and daddy to get.

Santa knocked down the wood in the fireplace as he came down, and he returned Mr. Elf to his box.

Christmas morning Landon was very excited that there were no presents left on his calendar, which means that it is CHRISTMAS!!!!

Sophie was DYING to tear into something. She loves opening presents like all little kids.

Landon was most excited about this big present from Santa...hmmm...wonder what it is.

"My big boy bike and it is blue...my favorite color!"

He was too big for his tricycle, so he asked Santa for a big boy bike. That Santa is GOOD!

One of his other favorite gifts, and daddy's too, was a race track from us. Wes turned back into a little kid!

How many Sturgeons does it take to put together this track?

Well, 3 because they finally figured it out.

He also asked for a guitar for Christmas. This ones plays music on its own or you can play by yourself. He ROCKS out! I will post videos of him because he gets into it, and refers to himself as "The Rock Star"!

It was a great Christmas, and I feel like we taught Landon that Christmas is the day that you make it...not what a calendar says!

Kaylee's Room

Finally...I am getting pictures up of Kaylee's room. I have my bedding ordered, but it is on back order until the middle of January. I will have to post pictures of that later.

Thankfully Steve, my wonderful father-in-law, has a steady hand. He did all of the edging. I started painting, and since my sinuses have me stuffed up I couldn't smell the fumes. When Wes walked in he looked at me, pointed at the door, and said, "OUT!" I have learned to listen! I was allowed back in the room to check out one finished wall, but that was it!

This is hanging in her bathroom. I had a girl at work make it for me. She made one for Landon's bathroom too. It is precious!

Here is her hutch. It is getting full from gifts and hand me downs. I love it!

Landon really wanted to help the boys paint, so Mimi came up with a great idea and had him paint downstairs. He had more fun doing that. He loves to paint with his Mimi!

He is painting these animals that are stuffed with sand. They are pretty neat!

Here is the project that Tammy, my mother-in-law, and I worked on for a couple of days. These are wall plaques that will hang above her changing table. The first day we started painting the letters we thought it might have saved us to just have bought the originals from pottery barn, but when we figured out that if I traced the words Tammy could free hand and paint them it went A LOT faster. I think they are MUCH cuter then the ones that we could have bought out of the catalog!

It actually was a lot of fun, and made my creative juices wake up! I can't wait to see them on the wall! (Notice the word FLY has to be in her room too. These were all words from pottery barn. All Sturgeons have to have some kids on airplane lingo...even if it is pink!)

While Tammy was waiting on the paint to dry she grabbed two scraps of wood and free handed these pictures to hang in her room.

We did ALL of this in 3 days. We all worked together, had a lot of fun, and A LOT of laughs! Now both of our kids have beautiful rooms that have been touched by their Mimi and Bubba!

Big Belly Bank

I have been blessed to know the Flatt and Green family since 2006 when I had Amanda in 2nd grade. I announced the end of that school year that I was pregnant with Landon. Mrs. Green, Amanda's grandmother who worked in my classroom, bought Landon a blue dinosaur Big Belly Bank. He has absolutely adored his bank! He likes to "feed" it!

I was lucky enough to have Amanda again in 4th grade, and now I am blessed to have her sister Allison in 4th grade this year. When I announced that I was having a baby girl Mrs. Green immediately e-mailed and asked what kind of bank Landon would like for Kaylee. He chose a pink dinosaur like his. The Flatt girls and Mrs. Green brought the present over for Landon to open.

The girls gave him money for the bank to get Kaylee started.

Landon had a blast playing with Allison in his playroom while Wes and I visited with Amanda and Mrs. Green. I am blessed to know these two families!
