Snow Day

So we had a snow day last week, actually it was an "ice" day. We lost our power for about 4 hours, so school was closed. We were lucky to get our power back on before we got up in the morning. Wes was home, so we went to lunch and just enjoyed a day off. I was hoping that all of the "snow" weather was over, but we started to hear about snow this week. We are supposed to get 1-3 inches. It wasn't supposed to start until 2:00-3:00. We had early release today, so I was certain they would let us go to school as normal and we would be out at 12. I was WRONG. They gave us the whole day off. We started by just relaxing. Kaylee decided to "do" my hair. 

Since nothing was happening this morning, I decided to run a few errands and then have some lunch. Kaylee got some new shoes that are tie ups. She thinks she is big now. I came around the corner and Landon was tying her shoes. So cute! We made it home and I conducted some parent/teacher conferences on the phone. 

Kaylee kept asking when the snow would come. She even got to the point of walking around in her snow boots. I was worried that we weren't going to get any snow, but as we all know it only snows when Wes is gone and he left last night. Around 3:15 it started to snow small flakes, but wasn't sticking. It was about 5:00, I was in the shower after my workout, that screams started to fill my hallway as LARGE snowflakes started to come down and stick. The kids couldn't wait to get outside. We didn't get completely bundled up like usual because it had just started to stick. I promised them tomorrow that we would PLAY in it. I think we could have saved this "snow" day, but it was still fun. I guess we will have another one tomorrow. 

Basketball Party

Landon has enjoyed his basketball season. He has made a lot of great friends! We were excited and sad that it came to an end, but we had a blast at the party at the trampoline place. 

Kaylee became good friends with Riley. She was a one of Landon's teammate's sister. They enjoyed jumping together. These are all blurred because they never were still. Kaylee is in the pink shirt and Landon is in the orange shirt. 

Landon and Jeremy, they have become great buddies!

New Truck

Wes has had his truck for 13 years. It finally hit 200,000 and after Wes thinking it was breaking down, we decided to bite the bullet and get him a new truck. Funny thing is, Landon said "I really like this truck. Glad that I do because it will be mine in 8 years." We have always joked about this, but he actually might be exactly right!

Now I have to convince him to actually sell the old truck. He likes to hold on to things, but I didn't buy this beautiful truck for it to sit in my garage!

Sweet Kids

I have the most amazing kids! My head was killing me, so I told the kids that it was a McDonalds drive thru kind on night. Kaylee and I went upstairs to change into my PJs. Kaylee had to make sure I was ok. She was my little nurse! When we came downstairs Landon had gotten down plates and sorted out everyone's food. I was in shock when I walked in the kitchen? Landon came and hugged me and said, "Mommy, I know you work hard all day and then work hard at home. I wanted to do something little for you. Kaylee followed hum and said, " I love you bunches too mommy!" 

I teared up and am again writing this! Thank you God for these wonderful blessings!

I Pray to Santa

Our car conversation:

Kaylee: "Mommy, I said a prayer today."

Me: "What did you say to God?"

Kaylee: "I didn't say a prayer to God this time. I prayed to Santa. He listens just like God."

This girl keeps me on my toes! She is hysterical! 

We will have to talk more about praying only to God. 

Who wants Daddy to go to work?

The other night Wes had to go to work and he asked the kids, while they were eating, "Raise your hand if you want daddy to go to work." Of course he was expecting everyone to NOT raise their hand. Landon and I didn't, but Kaylee did with a big smile on her face. Wes started fake crying and asked her why she would do that to him. She said, "Daddy you have to go to work to pay bills silly!" We laughed because that is Wes' response to her when she gets upset that he has to go to work. I guess she listens!

Picnic Please

During the summer the kids and I started having picnics in the living room. That was when we had the old furniture. Kaylee has been asking to do it again, but there hasn't been time. One day after school Landon had a basketball game, so I told them we could have a picnic. We had PBJ, yogurt, and chips. Sophie even joined us while she ate her dinner. We decided to have it in our playroom on a beach towel since we don't eat on the new furniture. 

Another One Bites the Dust

While Landon was practicing basketball, one of the kids accidentally hit him in the mouth and almost knocked his tooth out. The coach brought him over, freaked out, but was relieved that it was a loose baby tooth. His mouth was full of blood and his tooth was barely hanging on. He was brave and walked in the bathroom and pulled his tooth. I was SO proud of him!!! 

Ballet

Landon has always played a sport and Kaylee has been a good sport to hang out and watch, but now it is her turn. She decided to not play a sport, but to do ballet. She was excited to dig through a bag from Aunt Alisa that was full of ballet outfits.

I got her hair up into a small bun. She looks so grown up!

She loved ballet. 

Wes' 37th Birthday

Every year we venture to Chattanooga for Wes' birthday. It is always cold, but we find things to do. This time we didn't make any plans and just played everything by ear. We tried different restaurants and just enjoyed time together! One thing that we really enjoyed on Saturday was we had breakfast and then we got to do a complete workout in the hotel gym without any kids interrupting. I love that the kids come and work out with us, but it was really nice to get to done together. We then went to rock climbing place in Chattanooga. I guess it was a day full of working out. Might not be fun for most, but we enjoyed it. 

I greatly enjoyed spending all of this alone time with Wes. It was nice to just sit and enjoy all meals, have adult conversation, not cut up any food, and eat food that was still hot.

As much as we enjoyed our time, it was nice to get hugs from our sweet kids! As you can see Nana and Grandma Daniel wore the kids out. Kaylee slept the whole way home with her headphones like this. I would have taken them off of her, but I was scared I would wake her up. 

GREAT JOB LANDON!!!

I knew that making the switch to 2nd grade was the right decision, but this is great affirmation! Not only did he get all A's he also was chosen, by his classmates, as the good citizen! That means as much as the all A's! (You can only win this prize once a year, but Landon has actually won it twice this year. He was chosen in his first grade class the first nine weeks and then again in his new 2nd grade class!) 

Landon we are SO proud of you!!!

Big Couch

We bought a large couch, but for some reason we are still squished on top of each other. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

WiiU Fun

Kaylee is finally old enough to play the Wii by herself. She has thought that she was playing before, but one of us was always behind her "helping" her out. Shhh...don't tell her! Now she is big enough to bowl on her own. She loved it and did AWESOME!!!

100th Day of School

Kaylee helped Landon count 100 Cheetos, while I glued 100 eyeballs on his shirt. 

Too Big, BUT a Great Big Brother

We went to Kroger to shop and Landon tried to get in, but he was a little too big. Kaylee started to cry when he got out of the cart, so he squeezed himself in to make her happy. He said, "I will do anything for my Kaylee!" He is such a good big brother.

Bronco Love

We are SO sad that the Broncos didn't make it to the Super Bowl, but our love for them still stands. Even Sophie wore her jersey in support.
