Hold My Hand

When Kaylee is upset, tired, or just in a mood she wants to hold hands, especially when we are in the car. Yesterday, on the way to church she kept saying, "Mommy hand". Since she sits behind me, when Wes is driving, it kind of hurts to get my hand back there, so I asked if Landon could hold her hand instead. Her response, "Yes, my Landon's hand." As you can see that made them BOTH happy! Landon held her hand until she fell asleep. This is what sibling love is all about!!!

Landon's Phone Call

The focus of Landon's preschool class this month was to learn your home phone number. This is something we had already worked on with Landon. He have taught him my number since I am always the parent that is "around". He was very proud that he already knew my number. When they learn their number they get to use Ms. Karen's phone to call us during the day. Ms. Karen let me know that he knew my number, so he would call me today between 12:30 and 1:00. I, of course, had my phone HOOKED to me. I was SO excited to see my phone ring and to hear his voice on the other end. I don't get to talk on the phone with him that much because he is usually with me. He sounded so excited to talk to me and I was SO PROUD of him. I have to say he surprises me everyday and each day I am even MORE proud of him. What a GREAT kid God has blessed us with! I LOVE being his mommy!

Landon's Last Preschool Field Trip

Landon's class has been studying bugs, so they took their last field trip to the park and went on a bug hunt, played on the playground, and had lunch. Wes ended up having the day off, so he was able to go with Landon. I know that he was VERY happy to have his daddy there! He told me that his daddy was the "bug catcher" for the class. He said, "Mommy, daddy caught all of the bugs for everyone, but didn't catch any for me." I had to giggle and reminded him that daddy comes home with him and that we have the woods behind us, so they can catch bugs anytime. That seemed to make him happy.



Kicking Daddy OUT!

Kaylee loves Wes and me both putting her to bed, just like her brother. Last night we both were saying prayers and tucking her in, but daddy decided to get in bed and cuddle with her. I tucked them both in, said goodnight, and walked out. About a minute later I hear, "MOMMY...MOMMY...MOMMY...COME HERE". When I walked in she said, "Mommy, Daddy come with you." I guess this was her way of "kicking" her dad out so she could go to sleep. We laughed at how cute she is!

OUCH!!!

I was upstairs getting ready with Kaylee while Wes and Landon were downstairs playing. Landon got the great idea to take some cushions and make a path across the hard wood floors that he could hop across. Well the kids do this in our room while I take showers on the weekends, but the difference is...IT IS ON CARPET. The next thing I hear is horrible screaming. I didn't think much because I thought Landon had gotten in trouble, but when I came dowstairs I see this HUGE goose egg on his head. He went to jump from one pillow to the other, his legs came out from under him and his head hit the hard wood. OUCH!!! That is the hard way to learn a lesson!

Spring Break comes to a close

All good things have to come to an end, which means today is my last day of spring break. With Wes being gone most of this break it wasn't the break that I had planned, but my life is full of curve balls that I have to knock out of the park. Honestly, the best part of the break was today because Wes was home and we just spent the whole day together. We took the kids to Dave and Busters and had a BLAST!!! Landon said it was the best day ever and Kaylee said it was FUN! When we got back in the car they both told us thank you, which made our day! We all came home, took a nap, and went to dinner at a new mexican restaurant. It was nice to not have to fix a meal at all today!!! 

Spring break was not all of the BIG things that I had planned, but it turned out great with the little things that we got to do together! Painting, riding bikes, running errands, eating at McDonalds, McDonalds playground, eating at Stevie B's, playing the Stevie B's games, winning prizes, racing around the house, playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, having movie night, catching up on our cartoons, coloring, getting new shoes, going to the pet store, riding the carousel, and just spending time together. I cherish these moments because I know that there will be a time that I will have all the free time to sleep again, shop, and be lazy. This will be the time that I miss all the chaos/fun of kids!!! 

Spring Break = STAYcation

I started this week with GREAT plans for us. Wes hard off Saturday & Sunday, was on call Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, then was supposed to be off Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There weren't enough days off for us to make it down to Destin, FL so we had made plans too go to the zoo, park, and other things as a family here in Atlanta. Well, I should know by now if I make plans things don't go my way. 

(Maybe this is why I am such a planner/control freak at school because I can't be a planner at home.)

Needless to say they took Wes' days off and he worked all week. He will finally be home for a day on Sunday. I know I have heard everyone say that it isn't fair, and it isn't but it is what it is. I have to make the most of this spring break for the kids. Luckily for us it was beautiful all week and we did have fun. 

The one day that daddy was home, we went to Home Depot and built bird houses. We then went to a park close and we played frisbee golf and had a picnic. The kids had so much fun, but they kept stealing our frisbees.

 We took a day and painted our bird feeders. They both did a really good job!

We also had a lot of love on mommy time. I can't complain about that!

We took a trip to PETSMART to get Sophie some food, but we hung out looking at all of the animals. They both picked up a frisbee so that the next time we go play frisbee golf they will have their own. We then had a nice lunch out together!

We spent one day getting Kaylee's pictures done. They turned out GREAT. Here is one of my favorites!

We chowed on some corn on the cob, this always gets me excited for summer!

We also had movie night where we watched "Chicken Little" and ate popcorn. Kaylee was not a big fan of the popcorn, but loved the movie!

It might not have been the relaxing spring "break" that I was hoping for, but we had fun. 

Being a GIRL

Well, the girl fun has begun. Kaylee is very into shoes, which makes it very hard when I am "convincing" her of the shoes that she likes! The fun girl stuff is pretending to put on makeup, dress up, and paint fingernails. I have to say it is very fun! I do look forward to shopping with her, right now she just likes to pull things off the shelf.

Camping Out INSIDE

Wes got the tent out the other day. I thought it was just a fun thing to keep the kids entertained during spring break, but instead the boys planned on sleeping in it. I found this out at 8:00 when Landon was supposed to be going to bed, so I said good night to them expecting to feel Wes climb in bed with me soon after. I was wrong! They slept there all night. Fun memories!
