Roseola is the Answer

Last night Kaylee woke up at 12:30am and 6:30am wanting a bottle. As much as I hate getting up in the middle of the night it allowed me to check her temperature and it was a sign that she was starting to get her appetite back. I was very excited to see that she still didn't have a temperature! At the 6:30 feeding I changed her diaper with only the bathroom light on and then she cuddled with me in bed. I was going back and forth as to whether or not I would take her to the Dr. this morning. I decided to go ahead and get her dressed and then make a decision. Well, that decision was VERY easy when I took her pajamas off. She had a rash all over her tummy. Within the hour it was on her scalp too. My girlfriend Kristi called and said that she thought it was Roseola because her daughter had the same thing. Well, she was right after a 5 minute observation from Dr. Messick he confirmed that it was Roseola which is a skin virus. He said she isn't contagious as soon as the rash comes. I am so glad that we now have a reason for all of this, so happy it is over, and more than that I am VERY EXCITED that my Little Bit is smiling and playing for the first time since Sunday night! (5 LONG days ago)

It is just a virus...

Sunday Kaylee started acting odd. By odd I mean she didn't want dinner, wanted me to hold her, and cried when I put her to bed. This is not her at all. She is a little piggy, is very independent, and loves to go to bed. Well, when she woke up on Monday morning we realized why she was not herself. She has a 101.5 temperature. Needless to say she stayed home with Wes and by the time I got home she had a 103 if we let her go without tylenol/motrin. Wes called the nure advice line and they said to keep doing what we are doing. She woke up on Tuesday with a 102 temp and Wes decided to go ahead and take her to the Dr. After a check they said the words that I HATE to hear. He throat is very red and infected, but it is not strep. It is just a VIRUS...UGH!!! When a mom hears the word virus it means no medicine and a waiting game. Unfortunately, it was a LONG waiting game. He fever went on from Sunday night until today (Thursday). I was very lucky that Wes was off Monday - Wednesday. I ended up having to stay home today with her. By this afternoon her medicine had worn off and she didn't have a temperature. She is just very tired and VERY cranky. I am hoping that she wakes up without a fever.

(We already have an appointment with our favorite Dr. tomorrow for the incase she still had a fever. I think we might still go to just see what they say and have them check her throat again.)

Kaylee - 11 months and my try at photography

Wes bought me my nice camera 2 years ago, and I adore it! I haven't taken the time to really understand all of the different things that it can do, but I have definitely used it a lot. Well, I haven't been great at taking Kaylee in to get her month to month pictures done, so I have been relying on my camera a lot. This time around I had to do an actual "session" with Kaylee to try to get a picture that I could use on her one year old magnet. I e-mail my girlfriend Allison L. to get some of her photography suggestions, and I think that they worked. These turned out much better than I ever expected. The weather was even working with me. It was 70 degrees outside.

As far as Kaylee she is getting so big! We have come to the conclusion that she might look like me, but she has Wes' personality. She has no fear and is very determined or stubborn.

11 month

- We have heard he say "Lanlon" a couple of times

- She is wearing 18 months clothes because she is so tall

- We have started to move up to Stage 3 foods because there is more to eat. She has been a little piggy.

- She loves toast with butter

- She has really started walking around holding onto things.

- She has started letting go and just standing. She stares at her feet like she knows they are supposed to do something.

- She still chews on EVERYTHING!

- She is starting to understand and listen when we say "No"

- She has learned to say "no"

I can't believe that we are planning a 1 year old party. Time has gone by really fast.

Who needs toys?

I have realized, now that I have kids, that it is true that kids would rather play in a box than the toy that was in it. Wes had bought us logs for our fireplace, and Kaylee went straight for the box.

The I bought a new car seat for Wes truck and both kids had a BLAST playing together in that box too.

Hapy 34th Birthday Wes/ Daddy

Friday night we took Wes to dinner at Olive Garden fro his birthday and then we we went home and had birthday cake. We decided to just get one BIG cupcake for Wes.

Landon was trying to give Wes his birthday spankings and Wes in turn pulled Landon's shirt over his head.

We had family birthday on Friday night and went out with friend's to eat at Taverna Plaka on Saturday night in Atlanta. It was a great birthday.

Pinterest - January

My goal has been to do one pin off of my boards on Pinterest each month. I could sit at my computer and pin all day long, but what use is it if I don't start trying some of them. This month I actually finished one project and have a couple in the works. This month my push has been getting stuff ready for Kaylee's first birthday, and I finally completed her invitations. I was very excited about how cute they turned out.

Stealing is SO Fun!

Kaylee's new favorite thing to do is to take WHATEVER Sophie has from her. Sophie is a very patient sweet puppy and she always waits for Kaylee to drop it or give it back. Kaylee's favorite thing is Sophie's bone. She has tried to chew on it. I know GROSS, but for some reason she thinks it is yummy. Here is the conversation going on in these pictures:

Wes: Kaylee, give me Sophie's bone. (notice it is in her hands.)

Kaylee: "Ok Sophie, you can have it back."

Kaylee: "I gave it to her daddy, I promise I did!"

Kaylee: "Daddy, it is not behind my back."

BUSTED!!! Daddy swipes it and throws the thief in the air!
