Happy New Year 2012

We decided to celebrate 2012 a little early since the kids needed to go to bed. Mom bought hats and horns for the kids to play with.

After dinner we decided to platy board games. Landon got to choose whatever games he wanted to play. We played Memory, Old Maid, Go Fish, and Slap Jack. We had a blast!

Right before we started to play Slap Jack Landon pointed at Nana and said, "You're going DOWN!". I thought we all were going to die laughing. They both were really into it as you can tell in the pictures.

Letters to Landon and Kaylee

Dear Landon,
This year we celebrated your four years with us. You have grown from my little baby to a big boy this year. You have done such a GREAT job with your little sister. I couldn't have asked for a better helper than you. You can tell that Kaylee loves being with you too. You have also blown me away with the hard work that you have done with writing words, adding, and subtracting. You are such a bright thinker, problem solver, and have a wonderful drive to learn. I am so proud of the polite young man that you have grown to be. I look forward to seeing all of the new things that you learn to do this next year. Thank you for loving me and always being willing to help me out even when you might not want to. I couldn't be more proud of you! I love you with all of my heart.

Dear Kaylee,

To think that this time last year I was wondering what you would look like. I would have never known that you would come into our lives this Little Bit with dark hair and blue eyes that melt us. You joined us on March 4th and have changed our lives forever. You are such a little ray of sunlight to all of us. Your smile in infectious and each day you show us something new that you have learned. I am so excited to see what new things 2012 will bring for you and how much closer you and your brother will become. You are our little princess and I love you more than you will ever understand.

2011

What a year this has been...

- Wes and I turned a year older

- Landon turned 4

- Wes and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary

- Wes and I celebrated being together for 11 years

- The greatest thing this year brought us was Kaylee Elizabeth Sturgeon our precious Little Bit

As I look back it has been a wonderful year full of new experiences. May brought sadness as I said goodbye to my Grandpa Daniel, but with saying goodbye brought me time to reflect on the many wonderful memories.

As I say goodbye to 2011 I am overwhelmed with excitement of what 2012 will bring to our family...

- 1st birthday for Little Bit

- Landon starting preschool

- celebrating his 5th birthday

- being with my husband another year

I am so thankful for the last 365 days, but can't wait t experience the next 365!

Kaylee's First Playdate

I was so excited to get the chance to go and visit Erin Reinstein and he precious twins, Kate and Sam. I have really missed her this year in my classroom, but I am so glad to see that she is doing so well. Kristi Terry also came so all of the kids got to play. (Landon stayed at home with Wes. I think he wanted some daddy time.)

Kaylee played for awhile before Kate got up, but when Erin brought Kate down Kaylee couldn't keep her hands off of her. I think she thought Kate was a babydoll.

Then Sam came down. As you can tell Kaylee really liked him. She put her arm around him right away.

Then we were able to convince Olivia to sit down for one picture. It took a lot to get everyone sitting and looking in one direction. Once the twins start to move I don't know if we will be able to accomplish this task again.

Christmas Afternoon

Christmas afternoon we headed over to Jeff and Alisa's house where Mimi and Bubba were. Luckily, Kaylee took a nap in the car and was a happy baby when we got there. She went right to Mimi and checked out the Christmas decorations around the house.

After we had a great late lunch we decided to take a break and open presents.

The 4 cousins: Hadley, Brooks, Kaylee, and Landon (Kaylee is holding a ball because that was the only way we were going to get a picture.)

Christmas Morning at Home

Christmas morning we had instructed Landon to call for us and not get out of bed. We wanted to make sure that we got hi reaction on video. He called for us around 7:15am, so we got up ran downstairs and turned on all of the lights. I had to snap some pictures of what Santa left since I know two little monkeys would be tearing into it quickly!

Santa ate some of his cookies, all of his milk, and took all of the celery to the reindeer.

He even left Landon a sweet note.

Then it was time to get two little monkeys up. Unfortunately, I had to change Kaylee out of her Christmas PJ's. She had pee peed all over them. I am so glad I took pictures of her last night.

Kaylee went straight for her stroller, stood up, it started to roll, and she went back to the ground. She will have to practice with it.

Landon went right in and started unwrapping Santa's presents. Santa got Landon and Kaylee a kitchen. Kaylee loved ripping the paper to little pieces.

Sophie loved helping Kaylee open presents. Kaylee thought is was funny too.

Then it was time for our presents. As you can tell we ran out of wrapping paper, but Landon didn't care.

He opened one side and realized that we got him a basketball goal and he was so happy that we both got hugs!

My mom handed me a box from my Grandma Daniel. When I opened it there was a note that said:

Jamie, From your two Great Grandmas that loved and adored you so much to Grandma Daniel that is still being blessed by you and your family. They give you their "Mother's Ring" for you to ALWAYS hold close to you and cherish their memories and the ones still to come with Grandma Daniel through your life.

Needless to say the tears started flowing. Landon was very worried about why I was crying! It was a sweet moment.

I was so blessed this Christmas. I have an amazing husband who always spoils me and we were blessed to spend time with all of our family. There is nothing better than watching Christmas unfold in your children's eyes.
