Do I dare say the word "routine"? I fee like we are finally getting into a routine. This has happened much earlier than I thought it would, but I am very thankful. Now we go out of town next week so we will see if this "routine" can hold up. I am hoping so! Here is our summer in a nutshell!
Between 3:30-4:30 - Kaylee wakes up for a bottle and goes right back to sleep
6:30 - Landon gets up and comes to watch TV in my room while I sleep or attempt to wake up.
7:00 - Kaylee, or as Landon calls her George of the Jungle, wakes up
8:00 - Kaylee gets a bottle and heads back to bed for a morning nap...Landon and I have breakfast, enjoy some time together, and get dressed for the day.
Kaylee usually sleeps either 1 to 2 hours.
10:30 - We are usually out the door going somewhere, unless it is a pajama day - "lazy day" when Landon asks to go nowhere.
12:00 Kaylee gets another bottle
12:30 - Kaylee heads to bed for her afternoon nap
1:00 - read books with Landon and he is off to bed for his afternoon nap or quiet time
If Landon doesn't sleep he has to have quiet time for a hour. He just lays in bed, looks at books, and talks to his animals. I have realized that he NEEDS this down time. Most of the time he falls asleep, but there are rare occasions that he stays up.
Kaylee and Landon sleep about 2-3 hours.
By 4:00 everyone is back up and ready to play.
6:00 - dinner and Kaylee's bottle
6:30 - Kaylee is down for the night
8:00 - Landon is down for the night
I feel very accomplished having some what of a schedule that we follow most days. When Landon was a baby I don't fell like I got him on a schedule, but with Kaylee I had to. Having two makes it mandatory to have a schedule. Sleeping in the living room or on me on the couch just isn't an option for her. When she is downstairs she is getting A LOT of attention from her brother. Things are definitely different with #2. The greatest thing is she is 3 months old and puts herself to bed. I just lay her down and she snuggles with her snuggie and falls asleep. (Yes, at night I sneak in and get the snuggie out of her bed, if she falls asleep with it. During nap I can see it through the monitor.) There are a few naps that I have to get her back up and walk with her for a few minutes and then lay her back down, awake, and she is out again.
