A Beach Kind of Day (April 1)

Finally, we had a GORGEOUS morning so we decided to head down to the beach. We were excited that Mimi and Bubba were both able to join us this time. Our last two trips they have stayed at home with Kaylee because she was so small. We thought she would like it for a couple of hours this time around. We set up camp and started building sand castles.

Kaylee liked sitting on the towel and playing with the sand toys minus the sand. We put her snack in the bucket and she loved it. Every once in awhile she would reach over and touch the sand, but wasn't too sure about it.

She is eating puffs not sand.

When we got home Landon and Mimi boiled eggs so that we could color them for an early Easter. He loves helping in the kitchen.

My Dream (March 31)

Wesley told me the night before that we had to get up early in the morning, of course I wanted to know exactly why we had to get up early on vacation. His next words left me speechless..."I am taking you to swim with the dolphins." If you know me you know that it has always been my dream to swim with dolphins. I don't know what it is about this animal that fascinates me, but they are just amazing. Unfortunately, it was dreary, rainy, and chilly, but there was NOTHING that was going to stop me! We got to Panama City Aquarium around 9:30am. We had to sit through an orientation and I actually learned a lot about these amazing animals. We then got changed and headed to the water. Now the water would have been great if the sun was out, but instead it was cold! We got in and petted the dolphin, kissed her, had her do some tricks, and then she took us for a ride. There are no words that I can write to tell you how amazing this was! These animals are gentle but yet very strong as they swim. I am still in awe!

Thank you Wes for loving me so much that you always look for ways to make me happy! I love you more than you know!

A "Little Bit" Book

Mimi and Bubba bought the kids a few books. I thought this book fit Kaylee perfectly!!! It even has her nickname in the title!

Dinner at the Beach (March 30)

While it rained we all hung out in the house. Kaylee discovered a rocking chair, in the corner, just her size. She loved it!

I started singing to her while she was rocking and she stood up to shake her booty. Mimi thought this was adorable so she got out her ukulele to play for Kaylee. She loved the music. Then Mimi sat down with her so she could play it too.

Bubba then got his down so Landon could play it too. It was a Sturgeon band.

When the skies cleared we headed to the beach for dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Back Porch.

I love that Kaylee is eating our food. It makes going out to eat much easier!

I guess Kaylee was done with the bread. See it stuck to the end of her tongue?

Then we headed down to the beach to stick our toes in the water. Kaylee loved it!

Pool Day (March 30)

It was supposed to rain so we decided hang out at the pool today. Bubba had warmed up the pool so it wasn't too cold for Landon to jump right in. He surprised us by asking to just wear his life jacket instead of his swimmies. He did really good swimming around and was much more confidant this year. I guess this means we should get him into swim lessons since he isn't scared.

I love these first 5 pictures because they were me continuing to snap as he took his first dip realizing that the life jacket lets you go farther into the water than his swimmies.

Wes was brave enough to get in too. I just wasn't up for it!

Kaylee finally got up from her nap and came down to stick her toes in the water with me.

We had to get out when the rain started to roll in. Luckily, it was a FL shower and didn't last too long.

Destin Bound! (March 29)

Wes, Landon, and Kaylee picked me up from school. We headed home to pack up the car and got on the road. We decided to travel through the night to allow the kids to sleep and to give us another full day in Destin. We made it down the road about 5 minutes and Kaylee was asleep. She didn't nap very well that day so she knocked out quickly! Landon was content watching his movie. We drove through Atlanta and then stopped for dinner. We all ate and stretched our legs. When we got back in the car I turned on a Elmo for Kaylee and she actually watched it for awhile. Around 7 I turned it off and she knocked out for the rest of the trip. Around 8:30 I turned off Landon's movie and he knocked out too. I was exhausted from working all day, but I wanted to stay awake to help Wes out. We finally arrived at 11:00pm our time, 10:00pm their time. We unloaded the car and got everyone to bed. We were all exhausted, but very excited to start out mini vacation.

"Daddy is Home"

When Wes comes home Landon and Sophie always attack him with hugs. I usually bring Kaylee over who is kicking like crazy to get to her dad. We have been saying that soon he will have all 3 attacking him. Well, that day came after Wes' last trip. Mom and Grandma Daniel were in and I didn't hear the garage door open so I didn't get to announce that daddy was home. All three kids (including the dog) were in the playroom anticipating his arrival. When that door opened all three RAN, Kaylee quickly crawled, and attacked Wes. He just sat on the ground and took it all in. I quickly grabbed my camera. Wes was just beaming. I know it has to warm his heart to come home to such a great reception.
