Landon's Landing

SPRING BREAK...The morning that we were leaving it was all up in the air about what we were going to do for spring break. We knew that we were going to go to Destin, but the night before we left it looked like Wes would only be able to go for a part of it. He woke me up this morning and said that he was able to switch days around and get two more off, which meant we got to travel together!!! That made me one happy girl!

The kids did great! It rained most of the way and they just slept and watched TV.

When we got here it was drizzling, but we wanted to head right to the beach. We had dinner at the Back Porch. Rain or not the beach is still beautiful!

Our second day we got up and decided to go to the Farmer's Market and then walk on the beach. I thought Kaylee looked so cute in this outfit!

We drove 45 minutes to the Farmer's Market. While we were driving Kaylee fell asleep. This didn't alarm me, early morning drives knock her out. My concern came when Wes got her out of the car and she wanted him to hold her. He then asked me to feel her head. She was BURNING up! Wes thought she just got too hot in the car. My mommy gut knew better, but we continued to walk around while one of us carried her. After about 15 minutes Kaylee told me that her throat hurt. I told everyone it was time to hit the road and find a clinic. Tammy and Steve took me to Urgent Care. I had them drop me off and taking Landon to get some lunch because he was STARVING. Kaylee and I had to wait 45 minutes, but I got some sweet snuggles!

When the doctor looked in her throat he immediately said she had strep. So, we walked out with medicine. This is the best news a mommy can get!

The next day we woke up to Kaylee with a swollen eye. My first thoughts were pink eye, but she didn't say it itched, so we decided to watch it. We also tried a new way to decorate eggs for Easter. We boiled the eggs and took them immediately to the table and color them with crayons. The hot egg melted the crayons. It was really neat.

While Kaylee was sleeping, Landon went to play putt putt with Wes and Bubba. We were all surprised to see that the Easter bunny snuck in and hid all of the eggs.

Mimi and Bubba were celebrating their 49 wedding anniversary, so we wanted to do something special for them. Wes and I had a plan on how to get dinner together, but after a call to the doctor about Kaylee's eye not getting better Wes had to take Kaylee back.

After about a hour Wes called and said that the meds Kaylee was on was not working so they gave her stronger meds. They came back home and we were able to wrap up dinner.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful in-laws! Thank you for showing us how relationships last through many seasons!

While I ran to get Kaylee's prescription filled the kids jumped into the hot tub.

The next morning Kaylee finally woke up feeling great. That made us VERY excited!!! We decided that it was sunny out, so we should head to the go cart track. It was the first time that Kaylee was tall enough to ride. I was so excited for all of us to race against each other!
